$10/year
Starting the 2026-27 school year, a paid membership will officially be required for all members. This membership is directed towards funding DFS productions, events (i.e., The DFS Film Fest), and operational costs (i.e., DFS website, re registration fees, etc.).
The membership is a one-time payment of $10 per year. Recruitment begins during the summer break, and memberships must be renewed at the start of each school year (deadline varies). Special perks include access to exclusive events, such as film screenings, workshops, speaker events, flash film challenges, and networking functions. These will occur during and/or outside of DFS’s weekly general meetings.
For members who want to pursue filmmaking in the future, we have a program that will directly match you with a mentor according to your area of interest. (i.e. producing, writing, directing) You’ll be provided with exclusive opportunities for academic guidance and social support.
To join the program, you will need to fill out a mentorship mentee application. If chosen, you will be mentored by an executive officer who specializes in your area of interest. They’ll be tasked with guiding you through your productions, (i.e. story development, screenplay evaluation, editing consultation). Mentors will check in on their mentees to ensure they’re progressing successfully.
